Our Story
Indra Bhakta Shrestha grew up in Kathmandu in the 1930s and 40s. His family ran a small clothing shop out of their ancestral home in the centre of Kathmandu’s fabric trade in Indra Chowk. One of four sons, his parents were unable to afford higher education for Indra Bhakta, so from a young age, IBS worked with his family and learnt business from experience.

As a family business, our most valuable asset is our reputation- that of “constant entrepreneurs”, “deliverer of results”, and “trustworthy partners” which we have proudly built over the last three generations. These were the values upon which the Group was founded by our Founding Chairman, Mr. Indra Bhakta Shrestha and passed on to our Chairman, Ravi Bhakta Shrestha and Director Rabindra Bhakta Shrestha as values to be cherished even before profits and cashflow. The goodwill earned through our reputation is fundamental the company’s success and prestige today.
Our History
Mr. Indra Bhakta Shrestha was born on 16 August, 1924. He was engaged in the family business from a very young age. Indra Bhakta Shrestha grew up in Kathmandu in the 1930s and 40s. Leadership
Since the days of our beloved founding father, Indra Bhakta Shrestha, this family business has been run with the knowledge that our work must strongly contribute to the development of Nepal’s industrial infrastructure. Economic development is integral to the prosperity of Nepal and her people. For over five decades we have dedicated ourselves to projects that play a vital role in development and in fulfilling the basic needs of the Nepali people.
